Carmen Ana Reyes


Carmen Ana Reyes was born in Puerto Rico where she studied until she graduated from high school. Then, she did her undergraduate degree in Boston College, Mass. and a master’s degree in Middlebury College, Vt. In 1981, she moved to Paris, France for a year to finish her master’s degree. Then, she traveled to Italy for a summer to study Italian where she met her future husband. She lived in Italy for almost 30 years working as an Insurance agent and a Financial Consultant for 16 years. She transferred to Dallas in 2012 to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren and started working at Ericsson in the International Division of Accounts Receivable because of being multilingual. In 2014, she became a Realtor joining Avangard Real Estate Services, Inc. to date. In 2014, she became member of the Alliance Française in Dallas. She joined as a member the Board of Directors in 2015 and President of the Board in February 2018.

Nathalie Poirier


Nathalie Noel Poirier was born and raised in France, lived one year in Spain as a student, worked a few years in the retail industry in France and followed her husband to the USA in 2010. Passionate about promoting her native culture and our global world she joined the Board in June 2018 planning to use her negotiation, marketing and fundraising skills to help the Alliance Française de Dallas stand out.

Nicolas Bourdelot


Nicolas Bourdelot is a French national who has been living in Dallas since 2004 and who has been working for Toyota since 2017 as Sr. Financial Planning & Analysis Manager for their digital initiatives. As part of obtaining his Master in Computer Science, he moved from Paris to Dallas in 2004 working for Airbus Helicopters where he had a progressive experience across the IT function, then got promoted to the Finance team after graduating his MBA in 2011 from the University of Dallas. He is eager to bring his experience to the board of l’Alliance Française to increase its influence in the DFW metroplex.

Elizabeth Lemoine


Elizabeth is originally from North Carolina. She received a B.A. from Duke University in French Studies, a J.D. from The George Washington University Law School, and an LLM in Health Law from Loyola University of Chicago. Elizabeth is a partner with the law firm of Wick Phillips Gould & Martin, LLP, where she specializes in health law and commercial litigation. She also serves as legal counsel for The Garden at Mockingbird Elementary. Elizabeth’s husband, Sean, is also an attorney, and she has two children, Jack and Rachel. Elizabeth enjoys spending her spare time brushing up on her French, traveling, and cooking (French cuisine being a favorite).

Sabine Kerael

Board Member

Sabine Kerael is a French national working at Essilor of America as Senior Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. Originally from the French Riviera, she attended the Neoma Business school in Reims and started her finance career in France. She moved to Dallas in 2005 and has been involved with the Alliance Française of Dallas since 2015.

Pierrette Lacour

Board Member

Born in Burgundy…in Dallas and a member of the Alliance Française for close to 30 years…Pierrette lives in Oak Cliff and works as assistant to Dr. Richard Brettell, The Margaret McDermott Distinguished Chair of Art & Aesthetics at the University of Texas at Dallas. She is also coordinator for FRAME in North America (French Regional American Museum Exchange), a consortium of 25 regional museums (12 French, 12 American and 1 Canadian, see whose purpose is to promote regional museums and their collections in both countries. Pierrette has two sons, Pierre and Paul and one daughter, Jeanne.

Paola Buckley

Board Member

Paola Tettamanzi Buckley has taught foreign languages at Southern Methodist University since 2003. She is presently associate area chair and adviser for the department of French and Francophone Studies. She also designed and directs the SMU-in-France summer program, a five week faculty lead immersion program in Paris. She currently teaches Business French and initiated and oversees the internship program for French majors and minors who wish to apply their language skills in a professional setting. Paola graduated from Georgetown University with a BA and from New York University with an MA and studied second language acquisition at the University of Maryland College Park. Paola worked at United Nations headquarters in New York and also was accredited as both a French and Italian interpreter by the State Department in Washington; she has served as an interpreter at both the White House and the Pentagon. She has been married to her husband Jim for over twenty five years and they have five children.

Laurent Spamer

Board Member

Laurent had a culturally hybrid upbringing being born in Vancouver, B.C., raised by a French mother, and spending the better part of his formative years in Dallas. He graduated locally from Cistercian Preparatory School and attended Loyola University Chicago. He began his career in Dallas at PricewaterhouseCoopers and simultaneously earned a Masters in Accounting from the University of Texas Dallas. In 2010, after spending two years in Argentina, he completed an MBA at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. In 2012, he co-founded the Witherspoon Distillery in Lewisville, TX and is currently consulting at Strop Insights, a consumer perception consulting firm.

Melissa Moncrieffe

Board Member

From Texas with Caribbean heritage, Melissa received a B.A. in Art History and Languages (Spanish and French) from SMU, an MA in International Studies from The Graduate Institute, Geneva, and a PhD in Education from The University of Edinburgh. Education, cultures, and the arts have always been at the heart of Melissa’s professional and academic life. She has, for example, worked at UNESCO in Geneva and Paris as well as with international students in Edinburgh. Currently, Melissa operates a global education company, called Valued Educational Services, and writes YA and middle grade fiction and poetry, under the pen name, L. Samuels. She is happy to have joined the Board in June 2019 and plans to use her skills in intercultural engagement, proposal writing, and educational administration and policy planning to promote the mission of Alliance Française de Dallas.

Joumana Arraj

Board Member

Joumana Arraj teaches French at the Episcopal School of Dallas. She is also on the Diversity and Global Education teams. She has earned a B.A. at the American University of Beirut, a Maîtrise at the Saint Joseph University and a DEA at Paris I - La Sorbonne, Paris where she lived for ten years. She is married to Henri and has two children.

Louis de Vandière

Board Member

Louis de Vandière is a French national working at Atos as a senior data architect. After graduating from INP Grenoble in Computer Science, he moved to Paris, before living in the US. He has been living in Dallas since 2018 and has been involved with the Alliance Française de Dallas since 2020.
